A relatively common “flowing hair” pattern on mottled celluloid scales intended to mimic tortoise shell. While the razor measures 6/8’ of an inch from the top of the spine to the cutting edge, it would be considered a 5/8’s inch razor. This is actually an American made Ontario Cutlery razor and they make very good shavers. It is in extremely great shape. The pile side of this razor also has the same pattern on it. So you know... These designs in celluloid were not “carved”. They came out of a mold. If the design were in buffalo horn or cow horn, designs were pressed into the heated material and then cooled.
